Pale pink in the glass, with a lifted nose of summer berries, white cherry and a subtle hint of wild alpine herbs. The palate is bone-dry, cool and energetic: red berry and citrus riding a taut spine of natural acidity, with a fine, schist-like minerality that echoes the greywacke and glacial soils of the Kawarau terraces. Vineyards & Winemaking
Hand-picked Pinot Noir from our single vineyard in Bannockburn, where hot days and cold alpine nights give the fruit its balance of ripeness and acidity. The grapes were picked early and cool to retain natural acidity and fresh aromatics. Whole bunches were Champagne pressed straight off the skins for minimal colour and maximum freshness, then fermented slowly in stainless steel to preserve the wine’s aromatics and mineral character.
